LG ProBeam BU53RG Golf Simulator Projector
$3,799.00
The LG ProBeam BU53RG is a 4K laser projector with 5,000 lumens — enough brightness to hold a sharp image even when your room isn’t completely dark. It has a 0.94:1 throw ratio, which means it sits slightly further from the screen than the BenQ short-throw models (about 8 feet from a standard 120-inch screen versus 6–7 feet for BenQ). Built-in WebOS lets you stream apps directly from the projector when you’re not playing golf.
If your simulator room gets light from windows or overhead fixtures you can’t turn off, the extra lumens here make a real difference. Heavier than other projectors in our lineup at 25 lbs — verify your ceiling mount rating before installing.

What You're Getting
The LG ProBeam BU53RG Golf Simulator Projector brings 4K UHD resolution, 5,000 ANSI lumens, laser projection, and built-in streaming to your simulator room. Its high brightness helps maintain a clear image in rooms with windows, door gaps, or ambient light where lower-lumen projectors can struggle.
The LG ProBeam BU53RG Golf Simulator Projector also includes webOS built in, giving you access to streaming apps directly from the projector when you are not using the simulator. For a room that serves as both a golf simulator and home theater or family space, that adds useful flexibility without requiring a separate streaming device.
The Throw Distance Difference — Read This Before Mounting
⚠️ The LG ProBeam BU53RG Golf Simulator Projector has a 0.94:1 throw ratio, which is different from the BenQ short-throw models at 0.69:1. This means the projector needs to sit farther from your screen, so plan your mounting position before drilling anything.
Projector | Throw Ratio | Distance for 120″ screen | Notes |
BenQ TH671ST / AH700ST / AK700ST | 0.69:1 | Approx. 6–7 ft | Tighter rooms, closer mount |
BenQ LK936ST | ~0.8:1 | Approx. 7–8 ft | Slightly more room needed |
LG ProBeam BU53RG | 0.94:1 | Approx. 8–9 ft | Needs more depth behind the screen |

BenQ TH671ST | $949 | 1080p | 3,000 | Lamp | 6–7 ft | No | Value builds |
BenQ AH700ST | $2,299 | 1080p | 4,000 | Laser | 6–7 ft | No | Laser + auto fit |
BenQ TK710STi | $2,199 | 4K | 3,200 | Laser | 6–7 ft | Android TV | 4K + streaming |
BenQ AK700ST | $2,899 | 4K | 3,300 | Laser | 6–7 ft | No | 4K + auto fit + motorized zoom |
BenQ LK936ST | $4,899 | 4K | 5,100 | Laser | 7–8 ft | No | Large screens, ambient light |
LG ProBeam | $3,799 | 4K | 5,000 | Laser | 8–9 ft | WebOS | Ambient light rooms, dual golf/cinema use |
💡 The LG ProBeam BU53RG Golf Simulator Projector makes the most sense when your room isn’t fully dark, when you want built-in streaming, and when you have enough depth behind the screen for the 0.94 throw ratio. If brightness isn’t a concern and depth is tight, the BenQ AK700ST at $2,899 covers similar ground at a lower price.
