BenQ LK830ST 4K UHD Golf Projector

$2,499.00

The BenQ LK830ST is a 4K laser short-throw projector built specifically for golf simulation. It projects from close range — a 0.496 throw ratio means it fills a 100-inch screen from just 3.6 ft away — making it the right call for rooms where depth is limited. At 4,000 ANSI lumens it holds a clear image in rooms with some ambient light, and the laser light source is rated for up to 20,000 hours with no lamp to replace. BenQ’s Golf Mode reproduces the natural greens and fairway colors of course simulation software accurately. Screen Fill lets you switch between 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, and other aspect ratios to match your enclosure setup without losing image quality.

At $2,499 it sits between the BenQ TK710STi ($2,199) and the BenQ AK700ST ($2,899) in the lineup. Same 4K laser image as the AK700ST at $400 less — the trade-off is a fixed lens versus the AK700ST’s motorized zoom and lens shift. If your room is tight and you know exactly where you’re mounting, this is the projector that fits.

Description

What It Is

The LK830ST is BenQ’s dedicated short-throw 4K laser projector for golf simulation. It’s built for rooms where you can’t put a projector far from the screen — the fixed 0.496 throw ratio lets you project a large image from just a few feet back, with no zoom adjustment needed. Place it at the right distance, angle it at the screen, and the image fills the surface cleanly.

The laser light source does two things a lamp projector can’t — it stays consistent over time without dimming, and it never needs a bulb replaced. Rated for 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 hours in ECO mode, it’ll outlast most simulator setups without any maintenance.

Throw Distance — How to Calculate Yours

The LK830ST has a fixed 0.496 throw ratio. To find the right projector distance for your setup use this formula:

Distance = 0.496 × screen width (in feet)

Screen WidthProjector Distance
9 ft4.5 ft
10 ft5.0 ft
12 ft6.0 ft
13 ft6.4 ft
15 ft7.4 ft

⚠️ The LK830ST has a fixed lens — no zoom. Distance must be accurate. Measure your available space before ordering. Not sure if it fits your setup? Email [email protected] with your room dimensions and screen size and we’ll confirm.

Golf Mode and Screen Fill

Golf Mode is BenQ’s picture preset calibrated for simulator software — it reproduces the natural greens, browns, and blues of course rendering more accurately than a standard cinema or presentation mode. Switch to Cinema Mode for movie watching, HLG for live sports, or gaming mode for low-latency gaming.

Screen Fill lets you switch between aspect ratios — 16:9, 4:3, 16:10, 1:1, and 5:4 — to match your specific enclosure and impact screen without distorting the image. Most standard enclosures and impact screens use 16:9. If your screen is a non-standard ratio, Screen Fill handles the adjustment.

What It Works With

The LK830ST works with any simulator software and any launch monitor. It connects to your simulator PC via HDMI. Compatible with E6 Connect, GSPro, TGC 2019, Uneekor software, FlightScope software, and any other Windows-based simulator platform.

Optional wireless dongle (BenQ QP30, sold separately) enables 1080p 60Hz wireless projection from compatible devices — useful if you want to stream content from the screen when not playing golf.

Installation

The LK830ST can be mounted on a shelf, ceiling bracket, or floor stand. The fixed throw ratio means placement precision matters — use BenQ’s Golf Sim 3D Planner tool to map your room before mounting. The projector is lightweight at 7.93 lbs, making ceiling and shelf installation straightforward.

The IP6X sealed optical engine protects against dust without a filter to clean or replace — relevant in garage setups where dust is more common.
