Carl’s Place Standard Impact Screen
$0.00
The Standard is Carl’s Place’s entry-level impact screen — the most affordable way to get a functional hitting surface and projection screen in one. It’s a single-layer mesh screen that does the job for practice setups and budget builds. Compared to the Preferred, Premium, and High-Contrast Gray tiers it produces more impact noise, has more ball rebound, and gives you a grainier projected image. If you’re building your first simulator on a tight budget and plan to upgrade later, this is a reasonable starting point. If image quality matters to you from day one, step up to the Preferred.
Available in 29 sizes and three edge finishing options — Grommets, Flaps, or Loop.
** Prices range from $179.95 to $489.95 depending on size and finish selected.
What It Is
The Standard is the starting point in Carl’s Place’s impact screen lineup. It’s a single-layer mesh screen that absorbs ball impact and displays your simulator’s projected image. It works — but it’s the loudest of the four tiers on ball contact, has the most noticeable ball rebound, and produces the most textured, grainy projected image of the group.
For golfers who are building a first setup and keeping costs down, or who plan to upgrade the screen once the rest of the simulator is dialed in, the Standard gets you into the game without spending on image quality you may not need yet.
For anyone who wants a smooth HD image, less noise, or a quieter setup — look at the Preferred, Premium, or High-Contrast Gray options instead.
Edge Finishing Options
All three edge styles use the same impact screen material — the finish you choose determines how you mount the screen and how clean the final installation looks.
Classic — Grommets
A 2.5-inch black vinyl border runs around the entire screen perimeter with metal grommet holes spaced evenly along all edges. You attach the screen to your enclosure frame using ball bungees threaded through the grommets. The most straightforward setup for DIY builders working with a pipe frame. This is what most Carl’s Place enclosure builds use.
Classic with Flaps
Same 2.5-inch black vinyl border and grommets as the Classic, plus 7-inch nylon flaps sewn to the front edges with 1-inch Velcro loop strips along the flap edges. The flaps fold over the front of your enclosure frame, hiding the pipes and grommets for a much cleaner finished look. The flap space also lets you insert foam cushions along the frame edges to stop ball ricochets. The right choice if you want the installation to look intentional rather than assembled.
Classic with Loop Fasteners
Same 2.5-inch black vinyl border and grommets as the Classic, plus a 1-inch Velcro loop strip sewn flat along the border instead of flaps. Designed for builders who want to attach their own accessories — side netting, curtains, valence pieces, or custom trim — directly to the screen edge using the Velcro surface. The most customizable of the three options.

Which Size Do You Need?
Match your screen size to your enclosure opening — not your room size. The screen should be at least 1–2 ft wider than your enclosure’s hitting opening on each side to allow for ball impact near the edges without hitting the frame.
If you have a Carl’s Place enclosure, the matching screen size is listed in your enclosure specs. Not sure? Reach out and we’ll help you confirm.
